‘Mood Swings’ is the latest taste of Organ Morgan’s debut EP, Figurehead. He effortlessly blends grandiose, layered folk arrangements with bold harmonies and melodies, always retaining a sense of space and airiness. His sound takes from the likes of Leonard Cohen and Joni Mitchell, but elevates these influences into a new sonic world. On the lyrics of the track, he explains: “‘Mood Swings’ is about entering the house with a light heart and a bunch of daisies, calling ‘honey, I’m home!’ and finding your levity to be wildly misjudged. There’s a heavy gloom in the kitchen - supper has burned and the wrath has been well and truly nursed.
